Putin’s security is being beefed up
Right now, FSO officers and utility workers are inspecting manholes all along Moscow’s Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment. Police patrols are swarming, parking lots have been cleared, and buses carrying riot police and the Russian National Guard have been deployed.
Sources from the RuRe note that Moscow’s communications jamming has become even more widespread and aggressive. Outages in the capital have begun to be observed further away from the center. For example, communications have been lost near the Third Ring Road. A mobile picket with armed, masked men has been established at the entrance to Moscow from the Kyiv Highway. Meanwhile, standard security measures were in place on other highways, and no additional pickets were held.
On Sunday and yesterday, special forces patrolled even the inside of the Kremlin. As our project previously reported, they were also stationed along the perimeter of the Kremlin wall, its towers, on the Mausoleum, and even on the Vodovzvodnaya Tower. Pickup trucks and armored vehicles equipped with weapons were stationed around Red Square.
Putin himself, according to sources, began spending significantly more time in the Kremlin (including overnight stays), and had several private "reception days." Those interviewed do not know with whom he met, and these meetings were also not broadcast on television.
